Types of Things You Can Hang Up in Your Bedrooms

You may be looking to do some minor remodeling to your bedroom, but you don't want to spend a lot of cash or time to create a different look. When looking to change up your room, look to the walls. Items such as posters and artwork can create a clean, decorative bedroom.
  1. Pictures

    • Images of you and your friends or family members are a way to personalize your bedroom. If you have several framed photographs, paint the frames the same color to match the decor in your bedroom. Go with black for an elegant touch. White is a clean, refreshing color and will add light to any bedroom. Color frames are contemporary and give some life to an otherwise drab bedroom. For extra frames, visit a novelty store for inexpensive options.

    Wall Hangings

    • Add a little creativity and personality to your room with a large piece of plywood, some paint and a single inspirational word or saying, such as "Faith" or "Live For Today." To do this, first sketch the large, block letters onto the wood. Paint the letters with colors to match the decor of your room. Another option is to purchase each individual wooden letter and hang them to form an inspirational word, such as "Dream" or "Believe." Most novelty stores sell these letters in various types of woods and colors.

    Posters

    • Continue the theme of your room with a poster. For instance, hang up a poster of the ocean for your blue walls and seashell printed comforter. For a brown and orange room with a fall theme, hang up a poster of the forest or of leaves. A circus or a clown poster may be well-suited for a child's colorful room of blue, red and yellow. You can go with hobby items as well. A poster of a golf course would please a sports enthusiast. For a swimmer, hang up a poster of lake or pond.

    Other Items

    • For an art lover, hang up framed pictures of abstract photographs. Animal lovers will enjoy pictures of puppies, kittens or other animals. Colorful bubble decals are simple to hang up and take down. Frame your child's awards and hang them on the wall. Help keep your child organized with a book bag holder hung on the walls.
