Movie Theme

• If your teenage son or daughter is a movie fanatic, let them decorate their walls with movie-themed posters and memorabilia. Film posters can be purchased at a variety of stores as well as online. If your teenage son or daughter is more interested in making films, let them decorate their walls with posters of famous film directors. If acting is more their cup of tea, hang posters of famous actors from the modern era or posters of Hollywood legends such as James Dean and Marilyn Monroe. These posters can act as inspiration for them as they hang out in their room and work on their craft.

Sports Theme

• If your teenager is a sports fan, their walls should represent this fact. Walls can be painted with the logos of their favorite team or teams, or you can paint the walls to match the colors of their favorite team. For example, if they are a fan of the San Francisco Giants, they can paint their walls orange and black. If they prefer their rivals -- the Los Angeles Dodgers -- the walls should be blue and white. • Teenagers interested in music -- either as a hobby or as a career path -- should have bedroom walls that represent this fact. Or you can mount a guitar on the wall or records from their favorite artist. Painting musical notes on the wall can help them display their passion, or they can paint lyrics to some of their favorite songs on the wall.

• If you're a parent of a teenager, help them decorate their walls, which will allow you to spend time with them and gain knowledge about their interests. For example, if they want to transform their room into a tribute for their favorite band, spend some time listening to that band with them. If you will paint the walls, ensure your teenage son or daughter is confident with the choice. Although you can always repaint later, it might become costly overtime if the teen keeps changing her mind about the color scheme.
