Carve your own stamp design out of a bottle cork. First, draw out your design in pencil on the end of the cork. Initials and simple stick figure-type symbols appear best when stamped. Use a sharp, thin knife or straight blade and cut along the lines, creating the outline of your stamp design. Then, clear out any debris by using an air can to clean out the cork design. Finally, press your cork design into an ink pad and then stamp your design on paper or other material.
Cut a bottle cork into thin circular slices and glue to the inside corners of cabinet doors to act as a cushion for closing. This prevents them from slamming shut and damaging the wood, as well as making a loud clanging noise.
Drill a hole in the center of a cork halfway down and use to protect tools. Simply slip the pointed end of a tool into the cork and you have an easy tool cover. This protects people from accidentally falling on the dangerous edge or damaging the tool itself if dropped or moved around.
Repurpose bottle corks into a coaster or trivet. Cut the corks 1/4-inch deep, so you are left with several small cork circles of the same height. Then, position all the cork pieces together in the desired shape and glue the edges together with a strong household or craft glue. Let dry, according to the glue directions before use.
