Wrap tulle around the columns in a spiral effect, from the top to the bottom. A tulle-wrapped column masks the harshness of the concrete structure and softens the atmosphere to capture a romantic ambiance. You can use white tulle to keep the fabric subtle, or wrap a bright-colored tulle around the columns to match the color scheme of your event. If your colors are pink and chocolate brown, for instance, you might wrap all of the columns with pink tulle.
You can create a canopy effect if you have multiple columns that are proximal to one another. All you need to do is attach the tulle to the top of the column and drape it to the next column. Then, a second piece of tulle is draped from the second column to the third column, and so forth. You can fashion the tulle to the columns by hammering it in with a nail, or using a strong fabric glue.
Top the columns in your venue space with tulle bows. To make a tulle bow, you need to bunch the tulle together and pin it in the shape of a bow. Leave some fabric out of the bow so that it can hang down the column. You might sew a bunch of flowers into the tulle, or glue small pearls or rhinestones into it with a craft glue. This bunchy look can dress up any ordinary column.
Embellish your tulle and column decor by adding twinkle lights. If you wrap the tulle around the columns, place your twinkle lights in the same formation, hiding the wires beneath the tulle fabric. Or, if you are using the canopy effect, you can dangle the twinkle lights in the same direction as the draped tulle. The twinkle lights help create a glow from the columns, which illuminates any colored or while tulle.
