How to Decorate in a Feminine Way

Paint your special room in a feminine color such as pink, purple or another light pastel. After applying this base color, add a faux finish technique to further enhance your feminine room. Paint at least one wall using a sponge or rag roll technique. Your second color should be a few shades lighter than your wall color, or one that coordinates with your feminine-themed room.

Hang lace curtains on the windows. If you wish to make your window coverings more opaque and private, place the lace curtains over light-colored solid curtains before hanging.

Place feminine accessories throughout the room. Consider solid-colored glass accessories in pink or purple and frames or vases that have glitter for added sparkle. Scatter these items throughout the room or place them on bookshelves to add additional feminine flair.

Place candles around your room to provide soft, feminine lighting. Use LED and battery-operated candles to keep your room nicely lit throughout the day without the risk of fire. You might place them on windowsills, shelves or tables.

Add a vase of fresh flowers that coordinates with your wall colors and overall decor. Choose brightly colored flowers and replenish them often. If you prefer, purchase fake flowers at your local crafts store and make your own bouquet.
