Themed Sheets

• If the room that your decorating has a theme, choose fun bed sheets that coordinate with that theme. For example, a boy's room may have a camping or outdoor theme, so you can decorate with plaid or camouflage bed sheets. Mixing Prints and Solids

• Bed sheets can be fun if you use your imagination when mixing and matching. You can choose to mix prints with solids, such as matching a pink-and-black zebra-print bed sheet with pink pillowcases. Likewise, you can choose to mix and match solid sheets, such as matching an orange bed sheet with aqua pillowcases. Other ways to mix and match are to use floral prints with stripes or geometric-print bed sheets with solid bed sheets.

Matching Soft Furnishings

• Create a room that's pulled together by matching your bed sheets with your window treatments and/or throw pillows. You can find fabric to match your bed sheets to your soft furnishings in most fabric stores. Match your bed sheets by either using the same print or the same color. Another way to match your bed sheets is to choose a color found in the fabric you chose for your window treatments or throw pillows and find a bed sheet in that color.

Making Your Own Bed Sheets

• Create fun bed sheets by creating your own. One way to do this is to tie dye a plain white bed sheet to create colorful, psychedelic sheets. Other ways to make bed sheets in fun, interesting styles is to use fabric paint and stencils or to batik dye your bed sheets to create your own design and patterns. Additionally, you can silk screen a design of your choice onto a bed sheet to create a fun design.
