Hardiplank Features

• James Hardie manufactures the HardiPlank siding line to emulate popular wood styles. However, HardiPlank consists of fiber cement. This wood alternative for exterior home siding provides more long term protection compared with common wood siding. The siding's strength resists flying debris, such as from a strong wind or hail storm. The fiber cement composition resists pest infiltration, such as termites or woodpeckers. In addition, fiber cement does not expand and contract from moisture exposure and provides a nocombustible layer against fire dangers.

Cedarmill Style

• HardiPlank offers two siding choices that resemble old-fashioned wood clapboard. Select Cedarmill is a fiber cement siding choice that imitates true wood grain, including intricate and unique textures along the entire plank length. Another Cedarmill choice uses beading to enhance the siding's appearance. The added rounded texture creates depth through the use of shadows, generating a lifelike wood surface.

Smooth Style

• HardiPlank features three smooth siding choices for homeowners. Simple smooth planks are completely texture-free. Each plank, regardless of the style, can be customized with a selection of colors. The Colonial Smooth style uses a channel cut along the plank's length. The channel creates depth for the overall sanded appearance of the plank. The Beaded Smooth style uses small rounded beads for an understated texture across the smooth surface.

Rough-Sawn Style

• HardiPlank offers a rustic wood style siding plank called Colonial Roughsawn. This style emulates the appearance of coarse wood that has not been sanded or smoothed. This style uses a channel cut along the plank's length as an accent within the rough-cut design.

Benefits

• HardiPlank offers a 30-year limited warranty on any style. This long-lasting siding is installed with the homeowner's color choice, but the fiber cement surface can be painted in the future for an updated appearance. The underlying texture will still remain after a new paint coating.
