How to Decorate a Mobile Home Bedroom That Has Blue Carpet

Decorating your mobile home bedroom with blue carpet is similar to decorating a traditional home bedroom with blue carpet. Incorporate a theme or color scheme that includes blue so you are working with the carpet, not against it. You can play down the blue if it's not your favorite color while still including it, or you can dive in completely and decorate a monochromatic bedroom with nothing but shades of blue. When you're finished you should feel at peace in your bedroom and want to spend time there.

Instructions

    • 1

Paint the walls white, gray, soft blue or another color that complements the carpet and your color scheme. If you can't paint the walls, consider using wallpaper with a large, peaceful pattern that contains the same shade of blue as the carpet, such as damask, stripes or floral prints. Leave wood panel walls alone to avoid ruining the panel.

Position your furniture so you don't cover any floor vents. Use furniture in colors, finishes or textures that appeal to you. A black wrought-iron bed can be paired with black lacquered dressers and nightstands over light blue carpet, while white or light wood tones will look best on dark blue carpet. Upholster your headboard in fabric the same color of the carpet if you want to create a monochromatic room.

Liven up the room with colorful or bright textiles. A large white rug will complement white curtains and a white duvet for a modern look. Alternatively, a worn Oriental rug with some of the same blue will warm your feet next to the bed and tie the colors or floral pattern in with a floral bedspread. Cover an entire wall with drapes if you have paneling you aren't fond of.

Hang framed pictures, posters or artwork on the walls. Choose pieces that contain at least a little bit of blue in a shade similar to the carpet. Use colors from your rug, comforter or accessories to visually unify the space.

Accessorize the room with decorative items that tie into your color scheme and theme, such as candles, throw pillows, lamps and floral arrangements. For example, fill a glass bottle with sand and white seashells to sit on a shelf next to a white sailor's hat, a ship in a bottle and a novelty anchor or blue and white lighthouse for a nautical theme.
