Cute Ways to Design Your Room With Zebra Print

You room is a reflection of your own style and taste, and it should show your decorative touches. If you have an affinity for zebra print, use it throughout your room to add print, color and texture. While a zebra print can be overwhelming when used too much, when used in small portions throughout the room, such as in an area rug, curtains, a throw blanket or pillows, it adds a visual pop.
  1. Bedding

    • Decorating your bedroom with zebra print sheets, a comforter or a duvet cover immediately draws the eye to a large expanse of wild and vibrant print. If you choose to use this much print in your bedroom, limit it to this one area and keep the rest of your room decorated in understated solids and muted prints so that your bedroom doesn't look cluttered and busy. Zebra print bedding is available in a variety of colors beyond the standard black and white, so your choices of color are nearly limitless. If you do choose black and white print, accessorize in other colors as well, such as red, pink or green, for a bright look without adding too much pattern.

    Curtains

    • The windows in a room are often the focal point, drawing the eye toward them. Make a large visual impact by hanging zebra-print curtains on your windows. Select a fabric that reflects your style; a more luxurious style calls for an elegant fabric, such as velvet. A casual style works best with lighter fabrics, such as a cotton or sheer chiffon.

    Throw Pillows

    • Use throw pillows in zebra prints to spread the pattern throughout your room tastefully without overplaying the print. Place throw pillows on accent chairs, window seats, your bed and even in display areas such as bookcases. Pair zebra-print pillows with solid color pillows so that the print isn't overwhelming in areas where you have more than one pillow. In large rooms where you want the impact of the print in more than one area without overpowering the room, throw pillows are a tasteful selection.

    Accessories

    • Because zebra is such a powerful print, keeping it limited to only your accessories is one way of having the print scattered throughout your room without it looking too busy. Place a clock with a zebra-print frame in a prominent area on your wall. Select a zebra print photo frame or two and put them in different places throughout your room. Arrange a zebra-print throw over a chair or at the end of your bed.
