How to Apply Awlgrip

Awlgrip paints are used for a variety of surfaces, such as interior walls or marine surfaces. If you would like to spruce up your living space or boat, Awlgrip will allow you to personalize the space with a different color. Awlgrip recommends a specific process for best results. You don’t have to be a professional painter to apply Awlgrip paint. You can do it yourself with little hassle and just a few tools.

  • Canned air
  • Clean cloth
  • Paintbrush
  • Awl-Prep Plus
  • Awl Quick Epoxy Primer
  • AwlGrip paint

Instructions

    • 1

      Use a can of compressed air to remove any dust from the surface you are painting. Use a clean cloth to clean the walls.

      Put a cloth in a can of Awl-Prep Plus. Work the cloth around the surface to prep the wall.

      Use a paintbrush to apply two to three coats of the Awl-Quik Epoxy Primer to the wall and allow it to dry for 12 hours.

      Apply a coat of your AwlGrip paint to wall and allow the paint to dry for 30 to 45 minutes.

      Look over the wall to see any spots that need a second coat. Allow the second coat to dry for 30 to 45 minutes.

      Apply a third coat if needed.
