How to Build a Corner Window Bench

A corner window can make a great nook for relaxing, eating or reading. The trick is finding a seating arrangement that is customized to fit the space in a way that encourages comfort and enjoyment of the view. Arrange four of the 6 foot boards parallel to each other on the working surface. Set one 4 foot board on top of each 6 foot board, with the ends flush against one side of the boards. Secure them together with wood screws.

Place four of the 4 foot boards perpendicular to the others, flush against the other side of the boards with a single layer of wood, so that the entire system forms an L shape. Lay the four remaining 6 foot boards across the single layer of boards from the first section and covering the new four foot boards which are on the ground, so that they entire system is a two layered L shape. Attach the 6 foot boards evenly with wood screws.

Set two of the 1 foot boards parallel to each other and up on their ends vertically, and place another 1 foot board across them. Evenly space the two vertical boards and attach the horizontal board to the vertical boards using wood screws. Repeat three times, keeping all the vertical boards a similar distance apart from one another.

Flip the four assembled leg units upside down and evenly position them on the bench. Attach them with wood screws, making sure that at least one screw passes through each bench board on each leg assembly. Flip the entire bench upright with the help of an assistant.
