Hammer a couple of boards of scrap lumber where you would like a coat rack. Make sure that the rack will be at the right height for the people who will be using it.
Screw enough plant hooks into the boards so that you'll have two holding up each hay hook. If you want three hay hooks on your coat rack, you'll need six plant hooks.
Hang a hay hook from each pair of plant hooks. If you're worried about the end of the hook damaging your coats, use a metal file first to dull the points.
Hang the imitation animal skin on a wall as a backdrop for smaller items, such as branding irons, picture frames or other metalwork. You can also put the skin on the floor to use as a rug.
Find a wooden statue with a Western theme, such as a cowboy riding a horse or a standing Native American warrior. Sand the statue with the appropriate grit of sandpaper: the rougher the surface, the lower the grit you'll need to start with, and then work your way up to 220-grit before stopping.
Apply silver metallic paint to the statue. Read the manufacturer's directions for the exact drying time, and after the first coat has dried, add as many coats you need to achieve a smooth, metallic finish on the statue.
