How to Decorate a Prayer Table With Butterflies

  Look through several nature magazines to find pictures of butterflies that are clear and sharp. Or find pictures to print out from free photo websites. Cut the butterflies from the photos carefully, following their shapes.

  Cover an empty square tissue box with colored tissue paper, leaving the slot at the top open.

  Glue the pictures of the butterflies to the sides of the box. Write scripture verses on several strips of paper, and place them in the box.

  Pull out a scripture verse each day after you pray; think and meditate upon the verse.

  Purchase a piece of white cotton material to cover your prayer table, being sure there is enough room for the cloth to hang over the sides.

  Pour craft paint in the desired color in a shallow dish. Dip a butterfly-shaped sponge into the paint. Make sure the sponge is completely covered with paint.

  Press the sponge onto cloth so that the paint is spread out evenly. Repeat until you have as many butterflies on your cloth as you wish. Rinse the sponge before applying a different color.

  Embellish the butterfly wings with buttons, scraps of fabric and rhinestones.
