Lime Green Walls & Brown Carpet Ideas

Lime green is considered to be a warm color, which is vivid and energetic and tends to advance in space, giving a room a more intimate feel. Brown, on the other hand, is a neutral color but also makes a room appear cozier. Choosing colors that go well with lime green and brown is important in design because it not only sets the mood of a room but also creates fluidity, unity and balance in any room.
  1. Window Treatments

    • One way to select the color of your window treatments is to match them with the color of your lime green walls or brown carpet. Another way to choose window treatments is to match it with another color that you can introduce into the room that either matches with your walls or your floor. Pink, lime green's complementary color, or color directly across it in the color wheel, is one of these colors. For example, you may have pink throw pillows that you can match with your window treatments. Likewise, you can match your window treatments to a print that you've chosen for other soft furnishings, such as an upholstered couch or bedding. Moreover, white window treatments also go well with lime green walls and brown carpet especially if your bedding and/or furniture is white. Window coverings of natural grasses or reeds also match with the brown carpet.

    Furniture

    • White furniture goes well in a room with lime green walls and brown carpet. However, you can match the color of your furniture to the color of your carpet, as well. You don't have to match your furniture exactly to the color of your carpet so a lighter or darker shade of brown is appropriate. Limit the use of lime green furniture because it's a strong, vibrant color that can be tiring and stressful to the eyes. Another way to add a hint of color in a room with lime green walls and brown carpet is to decorate with a solid or printed pink upholstered armchairs.

    Bedding

    • Mix and match your bedding with colors that match with the colors of your walls and carpet. For example, you can cover your bed in lime green sheets, brown pillowcases and a lime green or brown bedspread. Additionally, you can select bedding in colors that match with lime green, such as pink, and other shades of green and brown. Another color combination you can use for your bedding is lime green, orange and lavender. This is the split-complementary color scheme, which uses lime green and the two colors beside its complement. White bedding also goes well in a room with lime green walls and brown carpet to tone down the vividness of the lime green walls. Solid sheets or printed sheets in any of these colors are appropriate.

    Accessories

    • Decorate a room with accessories in lime green and/or brown to create fluidity in the room. However, to create contrast, as with your bedding, window treatments and furniture, you can add color to a room by decorating with accessories in complementary or split complementary colors. Accessorize with table lamps, an area rug, table linens, candles, artwork, vases and bowls in a color scheme of your choice. Likewise, brown carpet goes well with natural fiber accessories like a sisal area rug and woven baskets.
