A skeleton key is an essential for any one who owns an older home. In the event that you become locked out of a room, you'll need only your skeleton key to be able to re-enter. A skeleton key is designed to work with a number of different locks and features a long, narrow edge that resembles a bone. Many older homes contain aged locks that work with skeleton keys. While a more modern key is useless on a skeleton-key door, you can use your skeleton key to lock your door and keep the room's contents safe from prying eyes.
