Make a centerpiece from fresh flowers and vintage glass bottles that actually changes color over time. Imagine a collection of fragrant white peony blooms in a polished glass milk-bottle table decoration. Add a vintage wire canning jar basket to display them in and you have all the makings of a quaint centerpiece befitting the dining room table of any country estate. But you can make your centerpiece even more charming with just the addition of a few drops of food color to the water in each bottle. This is the method florists sometimes use to tint blooms, and you can easily do it yourself.

Set your vintage, wire canning jar basket in the center of the table and arrange a milk bottle in each segment for a total of six bottles.

Snip the tip of each peony stem at an angle under running water to keep your flowers fresh. Place one to two long-stemmed white peony blooms in each bottle and work with them to achieve the best arrangement.
