How to Decorate With Seashell Candles

If you're looking to redecorate your home with a summer theme, then beach or tropical decorations offer a soothing, pleasant ambiance. Small accents added to the rooms of your home, such as seashell candles, lend a tropical scent you can transport to any room. Seashell candles are typically either in the shape of a seashell, such as floating sand dollar candles or decorative conch candles. Or, perhaps they are regular sea-scented candle shapes with shells encased inside them. Key places for seashell candles include bathrooms, kitchen and living areas, because these are the places where family and guests gather most frequently and will enjoy them the most.

Instructions

  1. Decorating with Seashell-Encased Candles

    • 1

Place seashell-encased candles around the corners of the bathroom sink if you want them to function as night lights. Light these in the evenings for a natural, soft glow. During the day, they adorn the bathroom, especially if you continue the tropical theme, such as a beach-themed shower curtain, and bath towels or bath mats in a sea-foam, bluish green.

    • 2

Decorate the kitchen counter with seashell-encased candles by placing them in corners, near other decorations or in shaded areas. Seashell candles accent other decorations if placed near them, and they light up decorations that are in dim lighting. They also create subtle mood lighting.

    • 3

Place seashell-encased candles on corner tables in the living area to accent other trinkets or family photos. Seashell candles can be coupled with family beach photos.

    • 4

Create a centerpiece by placing seashell-encased candles on a beach-themed glass dish. Pour decorative pebbles or real seashells around the candle on the dish.

    Decorating with Seashell-Shaped Candles

    • 5

Create a coffee- or dinner-table centerpiece with seashell-shaped candles by filling a small, shallow dish with decorative sand. Place several seashell-shaped candles in the dish alongside real seashells.

    • 6

Create another centerpiece with floating seashell-shaped candles: fill a shallow vase with water. Line the bottom of the vase with decorative real seashells. Light seashell floating candles and float them in the vase.

    • 7

Add seashell-shaped candles around the rim of a master bathtub for a soothing seaside touch. Light them when taking a bath and breathe in the tropical aroma.
