     Wipe the surface of the cedar block with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust or debris.

     Thread a piece of fine sandpaper on a small sanding block, or fold it to sand the cedar block by hand. A 200-grit sandpaper is ideal for this task. Vacuum the sanding dust away.

     Apply cedar oil to a clean, dry rag. Wipe the surface of the block with cedar oil to coat the entire surface with a thin layer.
