Measure the width of the blanket to facilitate in selecting a curtain rod that is wide enough to hold the blanket without being too wide. The curtain rod should be slightly wider than the blanket, but less than 6 inches wider.
Hold the curtain rod up against the wall where you want the blanket to hang. Measure the length of the blanket to avoid hanging it so low that it drags on the floor or interferes with the furniture. Adjust the curtain rod height accordingly.
Mark the spot on the wall where you want to install the curtain rod using a pencil. Use a laser level or yardstick to confirm the markings are straight.
Install the brackets or hardware that came with the curtain rod. Most curtain rod brackets come with two screws and one bracket for each end of the rod. Use a screwdriver or drill to screw the screws into the wall, passing through the holes on the bracket. Follow the instructions if the rod comes with unusual brackets.
Clip the curtain rings to the top of the blanket at 2- to 3-inch intervals.
Slide the curtain rod through the curtain rings.
Place the curtain rod in its brackets.
