How to Glue Bamboo Blinds on a Closet Door

Closet doors that are only painted in a solid color can appear boring and plain. Jazz up your closet door to make it more decorative by applying a material that is not commonly seen on a closet. For example, glue bamboo blinds onto a closet door to make the door look more rustic and natural. Adhere bamboo blinds onto your closet door using materials and supplies that can be purchased inexpensively from any arts and crafts store.

Instructions

      Measure the length of the door you are covering, and trim the end of the bamboo blinds using shears to size the blinds to fit the door perfectly.

      Twist the handle of the bamboo blinds to close the individual blinds, which will create a more visually-pleasing door cover.

      Trim the top piece off of the bamboo blinds using the shears. Tie the top strings together to prevent the blinds from falling apart.

      Heat up a hot glue gun for 10 minutes, then squeeze a line of hot glue along the top edge of the door. Position the glue 1/2 inch below the top edge so that the door can close properly.

      Press the top edge of the bamboo blinds against the line of hot glue, then hold it in place for 2 minutes until the hot glue cools and hardens.

      Squeeze a line of hot glue along both vertical lines on the bamboo blinds, then press the blinds against the door. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden for 2 minutes.

      Squeeze a line of hot glue along the bottom edge of the blinds, then press the bottom of the bamboo blinds against the bottom of the door. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden for 2 minutes.
