How to Attach a Photo to Acrylic Wine Glasses

Rather than presenting plain wine glasses at your next event, jazz them up with photographs. You can turn the glasses into wedding favors by using pictures of the wedding party or match the photos to a theme. Use winter scenes for Christmas, tropical scenes for a luau and pictures of endangered animals and plants at green events.

This may sound expensive, but you can keep costs down by using acrylic glasses instead of real glass. Acrylic glasses come in large packs and cost, at most, a dollar a glass as of 2011.

Instructions

    • 1

Place each acrylic wine glass on top of a photo so you can see the photo through the base of the glass. Move the glass around until it frames the part of the photo you want to use.

    • 2

Trace around the base of the glass with a china marker. Cut out the circular photo.

    • 3

Turn each glass upside-down. Brush the bottom with a thin veneer of clear glazing glue. Press the photo into place.

    • 4

Brush a second coat of glue over the back of each photo. Leave the glasses upside-down and let them dry overnight.

    • 5

Apply two more coats of glazing glue to the bottom of each glass. Allow the glue to dry for 2 hours between coats. After the final coat, let the glass cure for 24 hours.
