How to Flatten a Poster Behind Glass

Posters usually come rolled in a shipping tube or straight from the store. However, when you get a poster home, it may be a frustrating task to try and unroll it so it can be displayed. Be careful when working with the poster so you don't tear or crease it. Putting it behind a piece of glass to flatten it will help you get more of an even result, reducing the risk of causing damage to the poster.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay out the poster on a flat, clean surface so the curled ends are facing down.

    • 2

Place a piece of glass onto the poster, covering it entirely.

    • 3

Weigh down the glass with a few heavy objects like books. Place these books at the corners of the glass, to keep it weighed down. You can cover the entire glass piece with books, but be careful not to break the glass or cause so much weight that it actually wrinkles the poster underneath.

    • 4

Let the poster and glass sit overnight or for about eight hours.

    • 5

Remove the books and glass. If the poster is still not flat, repeat the process.
