Instructions

    • 1

Measure your pastel paintings. Record the measurements, and purchase glass and white foam core in the appropriate size at a craft or hardware store. Pay a little extra to have the store cut the glass to your specific dimensions to ensure that it is cut perfectly.

    • 2

Cut the foam core based on the dimensions of the pastel paintings. Use the mat cutter and ensure that the blade is sharp to prevent jagged edges. Be sure to cut the foam core on the craft cutting board so that you will not scratch the work area.

    • 3

Place the pastel paintings on top of the foam core. All of the edges should line up. If they do not, trim the excess with the mat cutter. Place the glass on top of the pastel paintings once they are aligned perfectly with the foam core.

    • 4

Secure a frame clip at each corner of the pastel painting. The clips will secure the foam core backing, pastel paintings and glass together and will prevent these items from coming undone.

    • 5

String the cord through each of the frame clips, making a large square on the back of the frame. Ensure extra strength by creating a triangle with the cord. To do this, string the cord through the bottom two frame clips and loop it over the top of the square that was created with the cord. Tie all excess cord to the bottom frame clips, and trim the edge of the cord.

    • 6

Hammer a nail in the center of a wall, or where ever you would like to hang your pastel paintings.

    • 7

Mount the frameless pastel paintings to the wall. Balance the corded triangle on the nail. Straighten the painting.
