What Colors Go With a Black Bed?

A black bed may present some challenges when choosing the right decor for a room. Although black basically matches everything, it's important to find the right color combinations that will put you at ease and make you feel at home in your bedroom. You'll also want to find a palette of colors that create a balance, to prevent the black bed from drawing too much attention from the rest of the room.
  1. Smoke

    • A black bed fits right in to a room decorated with smoky gray walls, and white or light gray highlights and accessories. Since gray, white and silver don't clash with very many colors, this color combination also works for bedrooms where much of the decor is unplanned and random. These colors also unify a bedroom with a lot of mismatched clutter. A variation on this color scheme is a gray-blue and white combination; gray-blue adds a bit of color but still keeps a low profile, creating a peaceful environment.

    Powder Pink

    • Powder pink and black make a classic color combination. Combine powder pink walls with white trim and a peach-pink accent wall. Add touches of flair to the bed with white-and-black patterned pillowcases to prevent the bed from becoming too visually dark and heavy. For a bolder statement, use a darker shade of pink on the walls, without an accent wall. Add touches of gray around the room to tie the color scheme together.

    Sea Green

    • Black and sea green with accents of cream is an attractive color combination. Sea green brightens the walls. Line the walls with a cream trim and use black furniture elsewhere in the room for a unified interior design. Line the walls with black shelves and use black curtains for the windows.

    Black and White

    • This might seem obvious, but a black and white color scheme in a room with a black bed is just good sense. White is the perfect color for the walls, especially if you line them with black-and-white photos in sleek, matching black picture frames. Consider black shelving for the walls. White furniture elsewhere in the room creates an overall balance of black and white.
