How to Mount Floating Frames With Tape or Glue

Floating frames can display pictures on your wall while creating a dramatic effect. Images within floating frames are sandwiched between two clear, glass sheets. The frames can be mounted on a wall or tabletop. Interior designers incorporate the accessory by adding documents, artwork, photos and postcards to the display frame. The contemporary, fashionable frame makes any photograph look good as it appears to float in the air.

    • 2

Adhere the glass sheet to the image at the bottom of the frame, using acid-free hinging tape or hinging tissue.

    • 3

Flip the attached frame and photograph upside down, then place the glass-framed backing board behind it.

    • 4

Insert the adhered glass sheets into the picture frame, then hang the frame on your wall.

    Mount With Glue

    • 5

Apply wet glue or spray adhesive to the center of a sheet of glass.

    • 6

Position your photograph or artwork on the glass sheet and smooth it down from its middle to its edges using your hand.

Allow the frame board to dry for up to 24 hours before inserting it into the picture frame. Hang the frame on the wall once dry.
