Sandblasted Grapewood Ideas

Sandblasted grape wood is frequently used for aquarium and terrarium decor, as well as bird perches and decorative home pieces. Sandblast grape wood to remove the bark and smooth the grape vine surface. It retains its natural striations and has a natural driftwood appearance that makes it popular with homeowners looking to add a rustic look to their decor.
  1. Large Piece Table

    • If you have a very large piece of grape wood, consider using it as a base for a table. Mounting a piece of glass on top a large piece of grape wood, at least 2 feet high and 3 feet long can create a unique conversation piece and a durable table. Intertwine smaller pieces of grape wood, wired, or screwed together to form a larger piece upon which you can place a piece of glass or marble.

    Indoor Trellis

    • Sandblasted grape wood makes an excellent material for an indoor trellis. Mount the piece of wood to a metal stake, then press the stake into a pot containing a climbing plant such as pothos or English ivy. Train the climbing plant to move upward, and intertwine in the natural curvatures of the grape wood, creating a rustic and singular planter.

    Table Centerpiece

    • A piece of sandblasted grape wood makes an excellent centerpiece. Mount votive candles to the level parts of the wood, then place the whole piece on a dining room table or side end table to add a little bit of the vineyard to your home.

    Rustic Wreath

    • Wire several smaller pieces of sandblasted grape wood together to form a ring, then create a rustic wreath. Intertwine silk flowers between the curves of the vine. Add a small birdhouse or welcome sign in the center and the wreath is ready to hang on your front door to welcome visitors.
