How to Flatten a Rolled Print

Posters and art prints are one way to decorate your space. Tape or tack the prints to a wall, or frame them for a more elegant appearance. In many cases, prints are rolled up to be stored away or shipped in the mail. Although rolling the print saves space, it also makes the print difficult to use again because it will no longer be flat. Take care to flatten the rolled print correctly to ensure it does not become damaged.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the rubber band or other material holding the print in the rolled-up position.

    • 2

Roll the print, going the opposite way of how you found it, and secure it with a rubber band. Let the print sit this way for about 8 hours.

    • 3

Unroll the print and lay it out on a clean, flat surface. Place a few flat, heavy objects (such as books) on the ends and middle of the print and let it sit for a couple more hours.

    • 4

Remove the heavy objects from the print. It should now be flat and ready to hang.
