Turn the plate over so the right side of the plate is face-down on the table.
Hook one end of the plate hanger on one side of the plate. Traditional plate hangers are formed from hooks that are connected by springs. By hooking the hangers to different sides of the plate, the springs will expand and constrict to fit an odd-shaped plate.
Stretch the plate hanger across the back of the plate.
Hook the remaining end of the plate hanger on the other end of plate.
Hammer a nail in the wall.
Hang the plate hanger wire stretched across the back of the plate on the nail. Some plate hangers have hooks in the middle of them so they slip easily on a nail.
