Select a location for your 3D canvas art. Since 3D canvases stick out from the wall, avoid placing the canvas in a high traffic or narrow area. Choose a smooth expanse of even wall to enhance the look of the 3D art when it hangs flush against the surface.
Use a level and mark a straight line the same length as the 3D canvas across the wall in pencil. This forms the guide for hanging your work.
Press two to three push pins with long heads into the wall along the marked line. Place the canvas on top of the push pins, allowing the top edge of the canvas to rest on the pins. This straightforward method of hanging a 3D canvas allows the piece to mount flush to the wall with little damage. Heavy canvases or very large 3D works cannot use this method.
Use drywall fasteners instead of push pins to hold up more substantial 3D canvases. Drill a small pilot hole and insert a drywall anchor into the hole. Follow the anchor with a drywall bolt, allowing the head of the bolt to remain out of the wall. Place the top edge of the canvas on the drywall bolt to hang the canvas flush with the wall.
