How to Hang a Circular Canopy

Whether you have just purchased a circular canopy to go over your bed or you have constructed a custom handmade canopy to drape down around a living room sofa, hanging the canopy securely is your next objective. Fortunately, this task is exceedingly simple, although you will require assistance from a roommate or family member to keep you secure and stable while you perform parts of the procedure. A spotter is strongly recommended for the safest approach to hanging the canopy properly from the ceiling.

  Locate the ribbons or strings on top of the circular canopy ring. If the ends of these ribbons or strings are not joined together in a knot or a loop in the center of the ring, tie them together in a double knot.

  Slide a ladder or step stool underneath the area where you would like to hang your circular canopy. Ask your assistant to stand behind you as you climb up the ladder or step stool. Climb up while carrying the knotted or looped end of the ribbons or strings and a pot hook.

  Screw the pot hook into the ceiling above the area where you want the sides of the canopy to drape downward.

  Slip the looped or knotted end of the ribbons or strings over the curve in the hook. Climb down from the ladder or step stool carefully.
