How to Decorate Fleece Pillows

When you use fleece pillows to decorate your home, you may feel disappointed with how plain and uninteresting the pillows look. Instead of spending money to buy decorative fleece pillows, transform the fleece pillows you already have by decorating them with a few inexpensive craft supplies that can be purchased from an art store. This project also enables you to customize the fleece pillows to match the colors in your home.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a fleece pillow onto a sheet of newspaper, positioning the pillow so that the side you want to decorate is facing up.

    • 2

Apply squeezable fabric paint in different patterns and shapes, including circles, spirals, swirls and dots. Cover as much or as little of the pillow as you'd like. Allow the fabric paint to dry for 30 minutes or for the amount of time written on the paint's instruction label.

    • 3

Cover one side of a shaped craft sponge with fabric paint. Stamp the painted sponge on the surface of the fleece pillow. Use any shape of sponge, stamping on as many or as few impressions as you'd like. Allow the paint to dry for 30 minutes or for the amount of time stated on the paint's instruction label.

    • 4

Squeeze dome-sized dollops of fabric paint onto the pillow, and press plastic jewels onto each fabric paint dollop. Add as many jewels as you'd like. Allow the paint to dry for 30 minutes or according to the paint's instructions.

    • 5

Turn the fleece pillow over, and repeat the steps, if desired, to decorate the back side of the pillow.
