How to Mount a Newspaper to Display

Momentous world events take place and the next day's newspaper provides all the details. A newspaper is like a time capsule, recording the world's events, historic and otherwise, in print and photos. From the typography to the colorful photography to the in-depth stories, a newspaper is often art in and of itself. Frame and hang a newspaper in the same way you'd frame and hang a photo.

Instructions

    • 1

Make a photocopy of the original newspaper because the original newspaper will yellow. The paper may also deteriorate over time if it's stuck in a frame.

    • 2

Purchase a newspaper-sized frame. These frames are customized to the exact size of a broadsheet, which is the full front page of a newspaper. Some frames even come in a half-broadsheet size.

    • 3

Cut the photocopy to size so that it fits within the frame. Apply pieces of double-sided tape to the corners on the back of the photocopy. Attach the photocopy to the frame's backing to keep it secure.

    • 4

Store the original newspaper flat and in an acid-free container. Store the container in a dark, dry area that's climate-controlled; heat and humidity will make it quickly deteriorate.
