How to Display Records on a Wall

Stacking records together eventually wears on the surface of album covers, causing the colors to be worn away. For favorite albums, this fading can be disappointing. Some record albums make interesting wall hangings and can be used as wall art. To preserve the cover and exhibit your treasured possession for family and friends, create a wall dedicated to your record collection.

Instructions

    • 1

Select a square picture frame in either black or silver narrow trim. Ornate frames will take the focus off the record or album cover.

    • 2

Place a group of framed records on the floor to decide the best arrangement. Leave 3 inches between each frame.

    • 3

Arrange four frames in a square and add another square for four more frames. Select a straight line or a zigzag look for an uneven number of frames.

    • 4

Place the center of the record 60 to 66 inches above the floor or at a comfortable eye level. Measure the distance between the frames and nail a picture hook into the wall to accommodate each frame. The frames will be lightweight and won’t require a heavyweight hook.

    • 5

Insert each record album cover into a frame.

    • 6

Attach each frame to a picture hook and make the necessary adjustments to level the frames.
