Turn on the stud finder and place it against the wall. Slide it around the surface of the wall until the light comes on, indicating the location of studs within the wall. Mark the edges of the stud on the wall with light pencil marks. If a stud is not available in your intended spot, mark the location and use screw anchors in later steps.
Remove the clock from the hanging bracket if possible and place the hanging bracket against the wall in the location where you intend to hang it. Mark the location of the screw holes with the pencil.
Drill holes in the wall at the marked locations, using a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the intended screws. If there is no stud available, drill holes for the screw anchors.
Insert the screw anchors into the holes if necessary, then hold the bracket up against the wall. Insert the screws and tighten them with a screwdriver until the bracket is secure.
Attach the clock to the bracket.
