Decorations Made With Golf Balls

While players may view golf balls as simply part of the equipment for their sport, these little balls do have other fun and creative uses. This includes making attractive displays. With a little imagination, a pile of golf balls can become a variety of decorations suitable for home, office, or a special occasion.
  1. Christmas Decorations

    • The Christmas season involves decorating the home, and golf balls provide a way of making some fun seasonal decorations. To make a snowman, hot glue two or three balls together in a vertical stack. This provides the base for the snowman. Accessories to complete the look include a small hat and scarf, cut from felt and glued to the head and neck of the snowman. Draw eyes and mouth on the top ball with a marker pen. Hot glue one golf tee on the face for a nose, and two tees on the body for arms. Use a bottle top for a base, gluing the bottom ball inside the upturned cap, to make the snowman stand.

    Animal Decorations

    • Golf ball animals make fun decorations for a child's bedroom. To make the legs of the animal, hot glue four balls together in a square. Hot glue two balls on top of this to create a body and, at the front of the body, hot glue another ball to make the head. This creates the base for the animal and, once the glue is dry, draw a face on the head and add accessories to bring the animal to life. A tail and droopy ears made from felt make a dog; paper ears, a string tail, and brush bristle whiskers make a cat.

    Home Decorations

    • Many players keep golf balls that hold particular meaning to them. This can include those used to shoot a low scoring round, balls autographed by professionals and, for the fortunate golfer, a hole-in-one ball. Putting these on display provides an attractive way of decorating a home or office. One option for display is a wall-mounted golf ball shelf. These typically come with dimples or golf tees, on which golf balls are set for display. Another option includes a golf ball display cabinet, usually with glass doors behind which golf balls are set on small wooden racks.

    Centerpiece Decorations

    • A golf ball centerpiece provides an attractive touch for a gathering at a golf club or a golf-themed party. Ideas for this include a golf ball pyramid, produced as small or large as required, depending on how many balls make up the base. A custom golf ball stacker and tray provides a simple way to make a larger centerpiece. Place the balls inside the upturned plastic stacker to create the pyramid. Place the tray over this, then turn over the pyramid. Removing the plastic stacker reveals the pyramid, with the tray holding the balls secure. Make a small golf flag from a cocktail stick and paper. Glue this to the top ball to complete the look.
