Select the tablecloth that you want to frame. Antique lace, gingham print and vintage, embroidered linen pieces are good choices.
Determine the size, color and style of the frame. Select a large frame to make a bold statement or you may choose to group several smaller ones. A red gingham tablecloth, for example, looks good in a red or white distressed frame. A gold-leaf, ornate frame is a good option for a vintage lace piece. Artists, art gallery personnel and craft store retail associates can provide suggestions.
Select the mat to coordinate with the frame and tablecloth, if desired.
Remove the back of the frame to lay it flat on the surface, out side down. Lay the tablecloth flat on top of the frame back, finished side up. Make small adjustments until you like the placement. Lay the mat on top to confirm the decorative element is positioned properly.
Cut the tablecloth, using the frame back as a guide. Set the excess scraps aside.
Spray the adhesive to secure the tablecloth to the front side of the frame back. Smooth the tablecloth with your hands to ensure proper adhesion. Refer to manufacturer's instructions to air-dry.
Lay the mat on top on the tablecloth, finished side up. Lay the glass and the body of the frame on top of the mat.
Secure the body of the frame to the frame back.
