How to Remove Bifold Glass Fireplace Doors

Bifold doors are common on bedroom closets and as fireplace doors. They open on a hinge that sends the middle of the door out toward you, and the top corner of the door runs toward the wall on a track. To fully remove the doors, you must also remove the tracks and hardware that hold the doors in place. Once the doors and tracks are gone, you can replace them with a cabinet door system or a fireplace grate.

Open both of the bifold doors all the way. Press on the top of the first door until it pops out of the track, then lift the door out of the bottom pivot.

Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws holding the top track or clips in place. Pull the track away from the fireplace. Remove the screws that hold the bottom track in place and pull it away as well.
