Decorating Walls With Wreaths

Wreaths add color and cheeriness to any home. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes and styles, so you are bound to find a wreath that complements your taste. Hang one on a wall to create an appealing, welcoming look that makes your space seem inviting.
  1. Types

    • Wreaths are made of more than just pine; they can be made of a variety of natural or fabricated materials. Grapevines are often formed into wreaths, and these wreaths add a sense of rustic charm to a space. Straw is another material that wreaths are often made out of. Purchase a foam or metal wreath form, and embellish it with virtually any type of decorative element you like. For example, you can hot glue Christmas ornaments or plastic Easter eggs onto a wire wreath form, or insert the blooms of silk flowers into a foam wreath.

    Reasons

    • Though wreaths are often thought of as decorative elements during the winter holiday season, they can add a touch of charm to your home any time of the year. Hang wreaths to decorate for various holidays, from the Fourth of July to Thanksgiving. Use wreaths as seasonal decorations, alternating them to suit the different seasons. Wreaths can also be used as year-round decorations. Simply choose a wreath that ties in with the decor of the room, and display it on a wall all year long.

    Locations

    • Choose any location on the wall of any room in your home to display a wreath on. Hang a wreath on the wall above the sofa in a living room. In a bedroom, use a wreath as a decoration on the wall above a bed. Use a wreath to decorate the wall above the toilet in a bathroom. In the kitchen, hang a wreath on the wall next to the table or above the stove.

    Methods

    • There are a variety of ways you can hang a wreath on your walls. Simply hammer a nail into a wall, and hang the wreath on the nail. Install a hook into the wall, and set the wreath on the hook. To add to the visual appeal of the wreath, hang it with a decorative ribbon. Cut a length of decorative ribbon, string it through the center of the wreath, and tie a bow or a knot in the ends, creating a loop in the ribbon. Then, hang the top of the ribbon from a hook or a nail on a wall.
