What Causes a Frigidaire Dishwasher to Leak From the Bottom Left Front?

A broken door seal is likely the culprit for why water is leaking from the bottom left front of a Frigidaire washer. Familiarizing yourself with your dishwasher will help identify the problem with your appliance.
  1. Door Seal and Gasket

    • Over time, your Frigidaire dishwasher's rubber door seal and gasket could deteriorate and water can leak from areas where the seal or gasket no longer adhere properly. Inspect the seal and gasket near the bottom left front for damage because this is where water appears pooling. If either the seal or gasket looks to be bubbling up, hardening or cracking, contact Frigidaire to have the worn feature replaced.

    Hoses

    • Several rubber or plastic hoses are in the bottom lower cabinet of a Frigidaire dishwasher. Any one of them could develop a leak that causes water to trickle from the front, left side of your dishwasher. Lift up or unscrew the screws that hold the panel on the dishwasher. Check each hose to ensure it’s not leaking at its connection. Clamp a hose clamp if a connection is weak. Replace any hose that’s damaged.

    Rinse Agents

    • Be careful not to spill rinse aid on the inside of the door while filling the dispenser. Excess rinse aid that’s not wiped up could cause the washer to produce excess suds and leak. Because the dispenser is on the inside of the door on the left on certain Frigidaire models, you might notice water and suds dripping from the bottom left front from spilled rinse aid. Clean up any surplus rinse aid that didn’t make it into the dispenser before running a dishwashing cycle. If you have soft water, avoid using rinse aid entirely because oversudsing and leaks could occur more often than if you have hard water.

    Dishwasher Detergent

    • Ensure that you’re using the correct amount of dishwashing detergent in your dishwasher to avoid oversudsing and leaking from the bottom of the machine around the front door. Follow the instructions on the side of the dishwashing detergent. Additionally, ensure that you’re using a detergent made specifically for automatic dishwashers, according to Frigidaire. Otherwise, the ratio of soap to water won’t be right and the dishwasher will generate too many suds.
