My Maytag Neptune Super Stack's Start Button Will Not Stay On

Breakers or Fuses

• If the unit has no power at all, it may be due to blowing a fuse or tripping a house breaker. This can happen if you get a power surge in the home. Power Outlet

Firm Push

• If the unit comes on for a few seconds and then powers off, it may be due to user error. The start button needs to be firmly pushed and held for two to five seconds in order for the unit to stay on. If it does not stay on when you do this, you likely have a problem with the internal wiring. A qualified appliance technician can diagnose an internal component failure such as this.

Door Ajar

• If the door is not fully and securely closed, the unit will not run its cycle. Even if the door looks closed, try opening it and firmly closing it again to see if that works.
