How Do I Take Off the Inner Tube in My Kenmore Washer?

The inner tube of your Kenmore washing machine refers to the rubber gasket seal on the inside of the door. Because of this gasket, the washer door is able to seal completely and prevent water leakage. In the event your seal becomes damaged, you can open up your Kenmore washing machine and replace it yourself in a matter of minutes.

  Unplug your Kenmore washer. Move the washer out to access the rear of the unit. Unplug all hoses located at the back of the unit.

  Remove the screws from the rear corners of the panel located on top of the washer. Pull the panel off of the washer.

  Remove the screws on the sides of the front control panel. The control panel is located on the top of the front of the washer. Pull the control panel off of the unit.

  Remove all screws from the front panel of the washer. These screws will be located in the corners of the panel.

  Open the washer door and remove the metal ring inside the doorway with your pliers.

  Pull the tube seal out of the washer doorway.

  Remove the front panel and set it aside.
- 8
  Insert the new tube seal into the doorway.

  Replace the metal ring. Replace the front and top panels and screws.
