Open the door of your HE3t washing machine or dryer to access the screws holding the door hinge to the body of the appliance. Turn each of the four screws clockwise to tighten the connection; the door sags slightly when the screws are allowed to work loose.
Tighten all the screws visible on the inside of the door; there are at least 14, which, when loose, weaken the connection between the inner and outer parts of the door. Be sure to tighten the screws holding the hinge to the door. Opening the door as wide as possible provides the best access to these screws.
Pull out any threads wrapped around the metal strike on the inside of the door latch with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Clear lint and other material from the door lock hole on the side of the door opening. Your washing machine or dryer might not start if there is an obstruction in the door latch hole.
Lubricate the door hinges with a silicon-based grease or cheap cooking oil. Avoid using moisture-dispersing sprays, which only provide short-term lubrication and are more suited to loosening stuck mechanisms. Work the grease or oil into the hinges by opening and closing the door a few times.
