Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Pull the machine far enough from the wall to get behind it to work.
Use a putty knife to pry up and remove the end caps from the control panel. Remove the retaining screws from the control panel with a Phillips screwdriver.
Lift the control panel, and push it toward the back of the appliance. Unplug the wiring harness from the control panel. Remove the retaining clips using a flat-tip screwdriver to release them from the cabinet. Tilt the cabinet of the washer away from the frame, and set it aside.
Remove the pump retaining clips using a flat-tip screwdriver. Pull the pump from the motor shaft. Release the hose clamps using a pair of pliers, and pull the hoses from the drain pump.
Connect the hoses to the new drain pump using a pair of pliers. Place the pump on the motor shaft, and secure it with the retaining clips.
Set the cabinet in place on the washing machine frame, and install the retaining clips with the flat-tip screwdriver. Plug the wiring harness into the control panel. Close the control panel by pulling it forward, and install the retaining screws using a Phillips screwdriver. Install the end caps on the control panel, and push firmly to lock them into place.
Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet. Push the washing machine into place against the wall.
