Troubleshooting a Sears Front-Loading Washing Machine That Won't Rinse

Your Sears front-loading washing machine has at least one rinse cycle to remove soap suds and debris from your clothes. A warm rinse water temperature will leave your clothes drier than a cooler rinse water temperature. However, your washing machine's rinse cycle may not always work correctly. Repairing the washing machine yourself may void its warranty. However, you can troubleshoot your Sears front-loading washing machine if the warranty has expired.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the door on the washing machine, and then close it tightly. Listen for the rinse cycle to resume.

    • 2

Pull the Sears washing machine away from the wall if the rinse cycle does not resume. Check that the machine's plug is fully inserted into the electrical wall socket and is not plugged into an extension cord.

    • 3

Open your home's fuse box if the rinse cycle does not resume. Replace any blown fuses or reset any tripped circuit breakers. Reset the rinse cycle on the washing machine.

    • 4

Check the hot and cold water faucets to ensure that they are fully turned on. Examine the water inlet hoses, and straighten them if there are any kinks or bends in the hoses. Reset the rinse cycle on the machine.

    • 5

Stop and unplug the Sears washing machine if the rinse cycle still does not work. Turn off the hot and cold water faucets. Remove the inlet hoses with a screwdriver. Clear away any debris from the inlet valve screens with a cloth. Reconnect the inlet hoses. Plug in the machine, and reset the rinse cycle.
