Insert the drain hose running from the back of the washing machine into a suitable drain pipe or tub, making a arc with the end of the pipe. Use the zip tie supplied with the washer to hold it in position, if necessary. The drain must be able to process a minimum of 17 gallons of water per minute and should be between 33 and 98 inches off the ground. Water siphons from the washer if there is no arc at the end of the pipe.
Screw the hot and cold washing machine hoses to the shut-off valves and tighten the metal collars by hand and then with pliers. Screw the remaining ends to the appropriate sockets on the back of the appliance, tightening with pliers. Open the shut-off valves to allow water into the washing machine.
Connect the power cord to a suitable outlet. Electric versions of this appliance require a connection to a three- or four-wire, 240-volt outlet, which is different than the standard North American 120-volt outlets. Call an electrician if the power cord supplied with the appliance does not match the available outlet. The circuit should be protected by 30-amp time delay fuses or suitable circuit breakers. The appliance becomes operational when the power is connected.
