Troubleshooting the LG DLE3777W Dryer

The LG DLE3777W model dryer is an electric consumer dryer. As you use the dryer in your home, you might experience problems such as failure to heat, failure to start and failure to dry in a reasonable amount of time. When you experience problems like these, you can take measures to diagnose and solve the problems yourself without calling an LG service technician to fix the appliance.

Instructions

    • 1

Push the power plug firmly into the wall outlet to confirm that the dryer is fully plugged into the outlet. If it won’t start, the plug may be loose.

    • 2

Look in your home’s breaker box or fuse box if the dryer won’t start or if it is not producing heat. You may need to replace a fuse or reset a breaker that is tripped. Electric LG dryers use either two fuses or two breakers.

Remove and clean the lint filter inside the dryer door if you are having a problem with lint on the dry clothes or if the clothes are not drying satisfactorily. LG recommends cleaning the filter after each load of laundry. If you pull out the lint filter and it is clean, the lint problem may be due to overloading the dryer or some misplaced paper in the dryer.

Take some of the laundry out of the dryer if the laundry is taking too long to dry. Putting too much laundry in at once, or too many items with heavy fabric, can lead to this problem. A clog of lint in the exhaust vent may also be to blame. To check for a clog, go outside to the vent to see if you feel any air when the dryer is on. In there is no air, you should stop the dryer and use a long, slender object or your hand to carefully reach into the vent and clean out the clog.
