Leaking Front Door on a Whirlpool Duet Washer

Whirlpool front-loading washers operate best with high efficiency (HE) detergent, because it produces a low amount of suds during the cleaning cycle. Regular detergents used in the Whirlpool washer create a buildup of detergent residue on the washer's door, which prevents the door from sealing completely when shut.
