How to Remove the Front Plate on a Bosch Axxis Dryer

Bosch manufactures compact appliances for homes with tight spaces. The Bosch Axxis is an electric clothes dryer that spins the drum with a belt hooked up to an electric motor. The belt, motor and pulley are all located at the bottom of the Bosch, behind the front plate. Removing the front plate provides access to these parts as well as to the wiring harness for the door switch. This is a high-voltage appliance so follow the critical safety procedures.

Instructions

    • 1

Slide the Bosch away from the wall to pull the plug connected to the wall socket.

    • 2

Push the tip of a flat-blade screwdriver into the upper right corner of the Bosch where there is a gap between the top and the front panel. Push down on the screwdriver handle to pry up the top 1 inch. Repeat for the left corner.

Extract the clip in each corner using needle nose pliers. Lift the Axxis top toward the back of the appliance.

    • 4

Take out the screws in the right and left sides of the Bosch front panel with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull downward on the panel with both hands to disengage the part, then pull forward just far enough to slip your hand in the gap on the right side.

Pull the plug connected to the back of the panel at the door portal. The plug is attached to the wiring harness for the door switch. You can now set aside the front panel to inspect the interior of the Bosch Axxis.
