The Cabrio has a digital display panel is is used to relay any error messages to the user. When the “F1” error code appears on your display panel, you need to clear the code from the display panel before you can troubleshoot the problem that resulted in the error code. Clear the F1 code, as well as any other error code, by pressing the “Pause/Cancel” button on the display one time. Try to run the washer on a normal cycle.
If your home's power goes out or blinks, it is common for a washer to stop filling if it is in the middle of a wash cycle at the time. The power interruption essentially pauses the cycle until you restart it, hence the error code letting you know something is amiss. It is also possible that you have an electric short responsible for the power interruption. Check all of your power connections, including the plug in the wall outlet and your breaker box or fuse box. If a breaker is tripped or a fuse is blown, reset or replace it and press the “Start” button. This should result in the machine resuming its wash cycle.
Once you have confirmed electrical power, check for clogs in the water inlet valve if the washer will not fill. Turn the water faucet handles to their off positions to prevent spilling water on your laundry room floor. Once you have done that, disconnect the water inlet hoses from the washer. You may need a wrench to loosen them. Once they're removed, inspect for debris or other particles that could be causing a clog. Remove any foreign objects that you see before putting the hoses back on the washer and turning the faucet back on. Lay the hoses so they don't kink, which could prevent water flow. Press the “Start” button to see if the washer will resume operation.
You cannot use regular or hand-wash detergent in your Cabrio washer, because it is a high-efficiency machine. This means it is designed for use with HE detergent only. If you have used non-HE detergent, the error code and pause in filling is likely due to oversudsing from the detergent. You must cancel your current cycle and select the “Drain/Spin” option to drain out the soapy water. Once the water is drained, reselect your previous cycle to restart the load. Do not add any additional detergent, or you will experience the same problem again.
