Using detergent that is not approved for use in the washer is a common cause of leaks. The LG Tromm washer is approved only for use with high efficiency detergents. Using non-HE detergents creates oversudsing. The overflow of suds causes a leak through the washer’s air vent, which is located on the rear of the machine. Using HE detergent in the future prevents this type of leak.
Water is delivered to the washer via the water inlet hoses, which connect to the washer from the hot and cold faucets. If the hoses are not secure against the machine, leaks can result when the washer fills. If you find a leak at the hoses, tighten the connection by turning clockwise. You may need a wrench to do this.
If the cap is not in the drain filter pump securely, water can leak from the lower left on the front of the machine. Twist the cap clockwise to tighten it if you have a leak in this area. The manual drain hose plug is also in this area. A leak can occur if it is loose as well. Push it securely into place to stop any leaks.
The cleanliness of your washer door has an effect on leakage. As you use the washer, detergent, lint and other residue can build up in the washer door seal as well as the door glass. When this happens, the seal is no longer effective and water can actually leak from the washer door. Regularly cleaning the door and seal with a clean cloth will prevent this from happening.
